It is estimated that five million tonnes of material, extracted during the building of the HS2 tunnels in London, will have passed through its Logistics Hub at Willesden Euroterminal by the end of the construction project. The million-tonne mark was passed last summer. Having been transported via a conveyor system to Willesden, the spoil is moved by train for reuse in the construction industry. On February 12, passing the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal, Freightliner Class 66 No. 66532 P&O Nedlloyd Atlas is seen heading one such loaded train from Willesden to the Cemex cement plant at New Bilton,Rugby.
