Writing Magazine presents a selection of travel publications currently accepting contributions. We strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with their publications before submitting and check websites, where given, for submission guidelines.
hidden europe is an Englishlanguage magazine and website based in Berlin that publishes three issues each year. Its agenda is to evoke the spirit of Europe’s diverse landscapes – everyday life in ordinary places rather than the tourist sites. It publishes thoughtful writing about lesser-known spots featuring sympathetic, well-observed enquiry about people and places. Original, unpublished feature articles between 1,700 and 2,000 words about locations that have not featured regularly, from writers familiar with hidden europe and its agenda, are accepted. Include details of photographs, a short biographical note and optionally, short summaries of a further 3/4 possible articles. Contributors are paid, and rates discussed at commissioning stage.
