What are you first memories of overseas Ashes tours?
Andy Rowbotham, Tadcaster
I remember listening to my radio, tucked up in bed. I clearly recall England sneaking to victory by three runs at the MCG in 1982/83. The Geoff Miller/Chris Tavaré catch, or was it Tavaré/Miller? (It was Tavaré/Miller – Ed). I then recall the 1986/87 tour with Gatt as captain. England were criticised in the build-up to the tour for their performances, but they turned it on when it mattered. Chris Broad, with his three centuries in the Tests, was absolutely phenomenal. He scored runs for fun. It was great to watch.
Which of England’s likely starting XI is our weakest link?
