Airbus has opened its Airbus Lifecycle Services Centre (ALSC) in Chengdu, China, the first of its kind to cover the entire life of an aircraft.
It is a joint venture between Airbus, Tarmac Aerosave and the City of Chengdu. The centre has been certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Operations at the ALSC commenced on January 24, 2024, a one-stop shop offering a full range of services from aircraft parking and storage to maintenance, upgrades, conversions and the dismantling and recycling of certain components. The facility has a surface area of 717,000sq mand can provide storage for up to 150 aircraft.
