Having set foot in the world of rental racing in 2015, after a few years’ hiatus, the brothers’ passion for karting rekindled: “My brother and I,” explains Piernatale, “ got back into karting thanks to Rental Karting. We ran mainly abroad, having fun, networking, and fostering friendships all over the world, thanks to this discipline which, we noticed, has a low economic impact but is highly competitive and rewarding. At that point, it came naturally to us to study the market and analyze the offer of this sector, both in Italy and abroad, to understand how we could do something important for the promotion of this sport.”
Thus, in 2021, the Champion Cup Kart (CCK) was born which, although rendered in English, owes its name to the historic race that inspired it: “Our passion,” continues Rocco, CCK Media and Communication Manager, “is that there must be a common denominator between the era that many indeed miss in karting, the glorious 70s and 80s, and modern karting. For us, this common line is a high-profile competition, accessible to all, which takes place in a highly professional organizational context but always characterized by respect, passion and friendship between the participating drivers: for this reason, we decided to name our race the ‘Champion Cup Kart’ race, recalling the Champions Cup which was held for many years in Jesolo on those very premises, as well as the accessibility and informality of the paddock, in a context of great competition.”
