Norwegian Dawn was denied entry to Port Louis, Mauritius on 25 February after a small number of passengers were reported to have been suffering from a stomachrelated illness. With testing completed, and with no undue health concerns, the ship was finally allowed into port two days late, causing a logistics problem, as Port Louis was a turnaround port.
Norwegian Joy returned to service with an 11-night transatlantic repositioning voyage from Southampton to Miami on 13 February, following a major refit at Damen shipyard in Rotterdam, during which part of the Observation Lounge was converted to cabin spaces, creating an additional 24 balcony rooms. The area formerly used as a reality games centre was converted to become a thermal suite for the spa.
