SHAW CROSS remain clear at the head of the section, thanks to a 24-14 success at OLDHAM ST ANNES.
The Sharks, who were 12-0 up on 24 minutes, were subsequently rocked by a strong Saints rally and found themselves only 18-14 ahead early in the second period, Annes having posted tries by Sam Akeroyd, Callum Fletcher and Richard Pogson, the latter adding a conversion.
But, despite having Dec Tomlinson sin-binned on 55 minutes for a high tackle, the visitors settled the issue with a 64th-minute touchdown for Issac Murray which Evan Stephenson, in Tomlinson’s absence, improved.
