DR RANJ SINGH and WAYNE DHESI
My new job involves public speaking and doing presentations.
While creating the presentations is fine, the thought of having to speak publicly to a large group of people makes me nauseous. I’ve given one public talk before and I sweated heavily, found myself short of breath and was a nervous wreck throughout. I managed to get through it but it was a horrifying experience. Have you got any helpful tips?

WAYNE: There are always parts of our jobs that, for various reasons, we’d prefer not to do, given the chance. However, when these cause us to react in the ways that you’ve described, it’s time to open up to a colleague or manager. It’s really important that someone at work knows how you’re feeling. There’s a real danger that if you don’t, you’ll start to find ways to avoid these situations, which could be the start of a very slippery slope.
