Air-Style VW Magazine Autumn 2023 Back Issue

Only £4.99
A warm welcome to Issue 11 of Air-Style Magazine
Our cover vehicle for the Autumn ’23 edition is Lawrence Turner’s amazing ’68 Squareback –
a very cool car and colour combination make this one a real head turner. If striking colours
are your thing, then Peter Thorne’s ‘72 Notch – ‘The Pickle’ – will not disappoint. It’s a
majestic vehicle in more than one sense of the word. If you still need a colour fix, check out
the ’63 Split Single Cab feature!
Air-Style’s resident Bus expert David Eccles looks at the history of the Devon, with Part 1 of
his fantastic insight into a much-loved camper that began life in a garden shed. Richard
Eccles takes us back to 1963 with a Transporter special edition for our regular feature from
the VW literature archives, Brochure Line.
If you were not lucky enough to make it to Spa in Belgium for Le Bug Show, we have a
roundup for you courtesy of ace photographer Dieter Lamaire.
The ’69 Concept Buggy feature will have you doing a double take; talking of which, you can
read about the Cox twins and their two very different Beetles.
Rob Henden’s 356 replica is well worth a read – the attention to detail on this one really is
stunning.
During the show season we, of course, had our own event – Volks Weald – held, as always,
at the hugely impressive Penshurst Place in Kent in the UK. Despite some challenging
weather conditions, the show was again a huge success as the VW community turned out in
numbers and we have a great show report within this issue.
In addition to some of the coolest vehicles around, this issue also has an added German feel
to it. Team Air-Style’s Jon, Sam and Spencer made a much-anticipated trip to Volkswagen’s
home in Wolfsburg, a truly amazing place, and you can read all about their adventures.
VDub Radio also paid a visit to Germany, broadcasting from the VW Bus Festival in Hannover
and met some impressive guests while they were there and you can read all about it.

Like many great origin stories - the idea of Air-Style VW Magazine was conceived in a pub. Four like-minded friends knew that they weren't alone in their love for all things Volkswagen. They felt there was a gap in the market for the many that shared their passion, and believed that they could provide a service that speaks to the people in love with the cars, vans, music and lifestyle that makes the VW fandom so unique. Throughout the various pub meetings that followed, the premise grew from a concept into a fully functioning business plan. Their mission was simple… to provide VW enthusiasts with a dedicated publication in which they can learn more about their beloved brand, and share their experiences with other VW devotees.

Fast forward to today, and Air-Style VW Magazine has surpassed expectations. Proud to pair their own passion with fellow VW enthusiasts - Air-Style VW’s success has stemmed from the creators being genuine fans of the brand. Each issue is packed with a combination of car based content and real life stories that educate, inform, and inspire.
