Ratho rockfall prevention
FOUR days of working around the clock at the end of January has seen the completion of a £1m rockfall prevention scheme at Ratho on the main Edinburgh-Glasgow line. Engineers have installed special netting and metal rock anchors at the site above the railway to reduce the risk of rocks falling during freezing temperatures. The work meant disruption of services between Edinburgh and Glasgow via both Falkirk High and Bathgate, as well as Stirling and Inverness.
