It’s our annual car cleaning and valeting issue, but rather than a formulaic look at what to do to get your car in tip-top condition, we’ve turned it on its head and given a fresh approach. You’ll have to buy a copy of the latest issue to see how we’ve looked at it this year, but it’ll get you thinking, we promise.

Elsewhere, we’ve got the first news on Ford’s new Kuga, tested the new Skoda Scala, Range Rover Evoque and SEAT Tarraco and pitch Ford’s new Edge Vignale up against the Volkswagen Touareg SEL. We’ve also been driving Volkswagen’s T-Roc in 1.6-litre TDI guise and put the facelifted Jeep Renegade through its paces. In Eco Car, we’ve been lucky enough to try out the pure-electric DS 3 Crossback E-Tense on a secret military base in France and driven the new Lexus ES 300h.

The Toyota Auris Hybrid is the subject of this month’s used car buyer’s guide, and we welcome a Kia ProCeed to the long-term test fleet, while waving goodbye to the DS 7 Crossback. We have news of Infiniti’s demise in Europe, an update on the growing threat of keyless entry car thefts, and news on the European Union’s plans to fit speed limiters to all new cars. In Eco Car, The Tesla Model Y makes its debut, and there’s the first information on an alliance between Toyota and Suzuki that will see a new Suzuki hybrid estate car built at Toyota’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire.

There are also all your favourites including Doctor Diesel, Marketplace, The Extra Mile, Buying, Maintaining and Selling, and the most up-to-date data section in the business, including all the new WLTP fuel economy figures.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Revisto 21 agosto 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
