The eagle eyed will notice a facelift in readiness for the 2022 model year. A nip here and a tuck there adds up to a fresh design that we’re all very proud of. But perhaps the biggest change is the slight change to the name, that becomes less of a mouthful to say. Diesel&EcoCar rolls off the tongue a little bit easier than DieselCar&EcoCar and represents how important we place on both Diesel and more Economy-focussed vehicles, including hybrid, plug-in hybrids, electric and sub-125g/km petrol cars.

The Christmas issue is the last edition of the year to bear a date with 2021 on it, and brings with it a first look at the Toyota Aygo X city car, the facelifted Audi A8, the Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X twins, Volkswagen ID.5 and Fiat Ulysse. There’s also a sneak peak at the Hyundai Ioniq 7 and Kia EV9, too.

This month’s twin test sees the Hyundai Kona meet the Toyota Yaris Cross, as both of these hybrids battle it out for class honours in the compact crossover class. We also drive Kia’s brand new EV6, the Genesis GV70, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. MG 5 EV Long Range, updated Skoda Kodiaq, and the facelifted MG ZS EV.

The newly refreshed Buying and Selling section has a comprehensive used car buyer’s guide on the Kia Niro Hybrid and you’ll notice that right across the magazine, there’s been a fresh lick of paint. We’ve been working on clarity and legibility and believe that it is better than ever. There’s all your favourites, including The Doctor, Bright Spark, Tech Zone, Legal i, Current Affairs and Christmas Gadget Inspector, along with the annual seasonal crossword. There’s also the most comprehensive and up-to-date date section in the business.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Revisto 21 agosto 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
