iDrum magazine: Never miss a beat August 2015 Retour à l'édition précédente

Welcome to the August issue! Things have been manic at iDrum headquarters of late – we have a lot going on with London Drum Show plans reaching scorching hot levels, the Meinl Festival to cover and a special edition of Drummer available as a bookazine this summer. But don’t worry – we’ve still had time to pack this issue full of drum goodies for you!
We spoke to Eric Singer, KISS’s phenomenal beatmaker, from Download Festival – they made a rockstar entrance by arriving in a KISS-branded helicopter, although apparently the weather conditions put a dampener on it! He divulges info on life behind the scenes, fights over that famous make-up and how he’s always been a fan of the band.
Rod Morgenstein, drummer for Winger and leading educator, tells us about the legacy of his famous drum books and teaching at Berklee. The legendary producer and engineer Ken Scott spoke to us, too – he’s worked with everybody who’s everybody and he lets us in on what it was like to record with Ringo, as well as a host of other top drummers. The Monkees’ main man, Micky Dolenz, talks to us about their upcoming UK visit. Did you know they outsold the Beatles and the Rolling Stones combined at one stage in their career? We round up this month’s interviews with the formidable Jamie Morrison, who is enjoying life as sticksman for the Stereophonics.
Mark Richardson is back for more guest tuition – he has some advice for life in the studio that you don’t want to miss! And DW has given us a Design Series snare (and a rocking T-shirt) for one lucky reader in our competition.Plus we have all the usual good stuff as well – news, tuition, reviews and more!
