for as long as Cecília Maria Soares can remember she has always loved miniatures. Her mother can recall how Cecilia loved to watch little bugs in the garden disappearing into the ground. Like many children in Portugal, she grew up playing with Lego blocks, building houses but also making home floor plans with the partitions.
She has always owned a substantial collection of tiny things. In fact, she still has the first miniature she created for her Famosa Nancy doll. It is a button with dried flowers that is used as a table centrepiece.
Cecilia has always had artistic tendencies, which she believes are inherited from her mother. She joined an art centre in the 90s for five years to improve her drawing and painting skills. She also enjoyed learning how to make wall tapestry.
