American Miniaturist  |  Issue 226
Lately I felt as if I was on a hamster wheel and my creativity wasn’t flowing. Everything that is happening in our world today was taking its toll on my heart. And as we all know, our heart and soul is what feeds our creativity.
Recently my boyfriend and I have been taking little road trips to rural areas to decompress. We came across a house in Pennsylvania, built in 1877, on a real estate app one day and jumped in the car to check it out. Just walking around the property and peeking in the windows ignited my imagination! There were so many small details on the house that just aren’t added on modern houses.
On our way home my mind was swirling with new build ideas and charming animal character dolls. My boyfriend was having fun imagining how the animal characters would be dressed and what they would have in their traveling suitcases based on their species. This was a good reminder that getting out of your normal routine is great for your creativity.
Even reading the articles in AM takes me into another’s life which ignites my imagination and can inspire me to try new things. So, while you’re reading about these amazing artists and their journey, we hope your imagination is sparked with a new creative idea!
