Ducati reinvent the MotoE class
There were audible gasps when Ducati announced they would be taking on the task of providing the machinery for the MotoE series from this year. Providing an incredible development opportunity for the firm to accelerate their electric bike know-how, they have gone from nothing to 18 race bikes in just 18 months. We head to the factory to get to the core of how they have delivered a miracle.

Old-school vs brand-new for A2
So, you’ve got an A2 restricted licence and you want to know what the best option is for biking happiness on 47bhp? Step this way. MCN videographer (and new A2 licence holder) Joseph racks up thousands of miles on Honda’s CBR500R, a restricted Yamaha MT-07, and his own Kawasaki ZXR400 to find out what’s best, and if he was wrong to buy the ageing Kwak. This could be awkward…

Road racing’s quietest hero
Known to regularly still be in bed just minutes before lining up on the grid, Bruce Anstey is one of the most laid-back, quiet and unassuming racers ever to have pointed a motorcycle at the horizon. One of the most incredible, too. And when you know what he had to overcome to achieve his success, it’s even more poignant and remarkable.

Reaping the Rossi effect in MotoGP
Valentino Rossi’s career may have fizzled to an end that disappointed fans, and poured fuel on the flames of his detractors’ desire for him to vacate his ride – but while his own success dwindled, he was building the foundations of a whole new generation of title success. That bore fruit in spectacular fashion last year as Pecco Bagnaia took the MotoGP title in a dramatic overhaul of Quartararo’s 91-point lead. And the fruit got even fruitier this year as Marco Bezzechi took team VR46’s first MotoGP win. So how does he feel about their success?

The old stalwart

MCN is heavily weighted for motorcycle sport. GP, Motocross, trials etc with more adverts than you can shake the proverbial stick at. I do not know how many contributors they are but it must be hundreds. There is a good reason to buy the digital version as the paper is usually so thick many trees must have died. The reviews are always spot on. I hope it goes on for many more years. Reviewed 27 April 2019
