American Miniaturist  |  Issue 233
This will be my very first Christmas not celebrated in my family home for 50 years! I have put out all my holiday decorations in my boyfriend’s home. He, and his African Grey parrot named Gizmo, helped to decorate the tree. Although Gizmo just hung out on the tree as we covered it with sparkly things. He was not sure what was going on because this is the first Christmas tree he has seen in his home. I will say he looked very pretty at the top posing as a star!
However you celebrate this holiday season I hope you are able to bring joy and peace into your home. Be sure to take some time to decompress if the seasonal stress becomes too much.
I find when I am displaying a dollhouse by moving things around, it feels just like meditation. When I am finished I feel so refreshed and happy. Maybe because I have placed all those items right where I felt they should be, which gives me a sense of order in this world. This is a big part of why I think miniatures are a great source of therapy for any age group.
Everyone here at American Miniaturist wishes you and yours a very blessed holiday season!
