When an eight-year-old Letícia Bufoni first started to skateboard in São Paulo, Brazil – the only girl among boys – it would have been impossible to imagine that more than 20 years later she’d be kickflipping a dinosaur skeleton in London’s Natural History Museum alongside the leading lights of the international and UK women’s scenes. But, as the champion skateboarder and this month’s cover star proves, perseverance can take you to great places.
