London—Mayor Sadiq Khan, second from right, speaks to fellow passengers in the first Night Tube train along London’s Victoria line on August 20. The London Underground is the oldest such system in the world but has lagged behind others in providing overnight service. The Night Tube program initially brings 24-hour service to just two lines, the Victoria and Central lines, on Friday and Saturday nights. Other lines will get expanded service in the coming months, but for now weekday partiers will still have to find another way to get home after a night on the town.
