The bumper, 132-page October issue of FlyPast features an extraordinary and rarely seen World War Two warbird on the cover. The Flying Heritage Collection’s awesome Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik is a world class restoration of one of the most significant aircraft of the war. Photographer John Dibbs went air-to-air with this machine, and we also find out what it’s like to fly.

WARBIRDS SPECIAL
As well as focusing on the Shturmovik, this month’s FlyPast has a strong warbird theme, with profiles and images of just a few of the world’s most impressive flyers. We include Canadian Lysanders, an Australian Mustang, the RNHF’s newly restored Fairey Swordfish Mk.I and much more.

Our popular Spotlight section focuses on a much admired British jet, the Blackburn / HS Buccaneer. This robust machine enjoyed a long service career – we look back on its record in both war and peace, and feature exclusive artwork and images.
