Dolls House and Miniature Scene  |  August 2016 (Iss 267)
This month we’re getting creative, obviously we do it every month with all of the fabulous projects, but this month we really are as you’ll find two art themed miniatures with step by step instructions by Kati Kainulainen and Stephanie Guy. Kati’s teeny tiny paint palette and brush (P.7) is a very quick and easy project and one which can be completed in a matter of hours whilst Stephanie Guy’s detailed still life portrait picture (P.14) will require time and patience. And that’s not all as we get out and about on the rural landscape with a fantastic chicken coop project (P.24) by Ruth Flewelling-Lesbirel which works wonderfully with Natalie Clegg’s stunning country flint wall (P.34).
Features this month include Moi Ali’s terrific interview with Californian artist Randy Hage, a miniaturist of over 35 years who creates the most amazing New York inspired storefronts along with an article about the magical world of Tara’s Palace Childhood Museum, home to Ireland’s largest period doll house and furnished with miniature masterpieces in 1/12th scale.
