Digital FilmMaker  |  DFM Issue 64
One of the best things about working in the field of independent filmmaking is the freedom it brings. After all, when you’re steering the ship and forging a project, either on your own or with a small team, there are less pressures from above. Contrast that with big Hollywood blockbusters and their huge production budgets and casts and crew that seemingly run into the thousands and you’re looking at two very different worlds. As you’ll see from the healthy crop of projects we’ve assembled for you this month, extra freedom can often mean a lot more creativity too. There are a wide variety of films this issue, covering a raft of different subject areas and genres. That’s a good thing, right? While most of the projects on offer in issue 64 certainly didn’t have the benefit of big Hollywood budgets, they’ve been more than compensated for with lashings of dedication and determination. Have a look through and you’ll see what I mean. Great work by one and all. Aside from a stack of talented filmmakers we’ve also got the usual collection of kit overviews, news and advice.
