Parchment Craft  |  October 2013
This month the subject matter of the magazine includes a collection of gorgeous cards which are appropriate for a whole host of occasions, as well as designs which will give you a head start, notably autumn and
Christmas themed images. The main feature card on the cover can also be found on page eight, and it’s a design which has been submitted by Singaporean designer Dewi Alimwidjaja. Her design draws on the basic white work traditions of the craft, and features an image which is popular with many enthusiasts.
Our introduction of From the Archives is proving to be a popular feature. I’ve received emails with re-creations of the two cards we have already reviewed, plus suggestions as to what designs we could re-visit in the future. This month’s inclusion is a design by Carol Hadlow and is one which was requested by a group of ladies who I met at a recent event. I think that it’s now safe to say that summer is well and truly behind us, and with that the focus now turns to the cardmakers busiest time of the year, Christmas. With that in mind, I’ve selected three Christmas cards for you to be getting on with. So, if they’ve whet your appetite and you’re wanting more, make sure you pick up next month’s magazine, where all
of the projects within the magazine will be Christmas themed.
