There’s a full-on UK exclusive in the new issue of 4x4 magazine.
Recently, we got the chance to drive the forthcoming all-new Isuzu D-Max on UK roads, making us the first British magazine to do so. Our initial review is published in our latest issue – and on top of that, 4x4 magazine is the ONLY publication in the UK with official information on the new model’s pricing!

The D-Max won our Pick-Up of the Year title in last month’s issue. And this month, it’s the turn of the rest of the 4x4 market as we publish our annual 4x4 of the Year awards – the most respected expert verdict on the SUV and off-road market anywhere in Britain.

We’ve had our first drive of the new Toyota Hilux this month, too. Add in a full test of the SsangYong Musso Rhino LWB, and this is a must-read issue whatever kind of 4x4 you’re interested in!

As if to prove that point, we’ve brought together two of the most exotic 4x4s of all time – the Lamborghini LM002 and Urus. Safe to say only one of them has a winch…

We’ve got the latest creations from two of Britain’s foremost 4x4
specialists, too. The Oxygen 110 is a stunning Land Rover from
super-exclusive restorer Arkonik, while PB Customs has excelled itself with the Raptor paintwork on a 5-door Wrangler inspired by the Jeeps in Jurassic Park.

That’s a whole lot of show-stopping vehicles. But possibly the most
legendary 4x4 of them all is also in this issue of 4x4. People still go
mad today for the Arctic Trucks Hilux from Top Gear’s Arctic Adventure in 2007 – and we’ve got the true story of what went into The Boys’ epic blast in the frozen wastes.

For epic adventures of your own, at the time of writing it’s not clear when we’ll all be able to go out exploring Britain’s green lanes again. But when the restrictions are lifted, our Salisbury Plain Roadbook is waiting to take you on an adventure in the wilderness – whatever kind of off-roader you drive!

Since lockdown, there has been a huge growth in the number of people getting into camping, the outdoors and enjoying an off-grid lifestyle. More and more, as a society we want to get away. Away from the relentlessness of a working life that has increasingly invaded our homes; away from the tyranny of always-on electronics and ever-watchful social media; away from the pressure to be busy, to be productive, to be available.

When your every waking hour is spent feeling hunted, just disappearing into the countryside for the weekend is a blessed relief. And if you’re in a 4x4, you can disappear further away and deeper into it. Overlander 4x4 reflects Britain’s new-found interest in an outdoor lifestyle.

We’re not a magazine about camping, but a magazine about the sort of adventures that involve it. Primarily, we focus on overlanding – showcasing both trip-of-a-lifetime expeditions as well as adventures that are more modest and, for most of us, more attainable. As always with anything four-wheel drive, it’s going to be a journey worth making, so join us for the adventure.
