Sometimes you walk away from a long-awaited event feeling on top of the world: as if everything you wanted to go right, went right, and that you could do it all again if you had the chance. Well, friends, that’s how at BGM felt on 3 March, the day after the long-awaited London Bass Guitar Show 2013, which we at the magazine and our colleagues at Blaze Publishing have been working on for the last year. I can’t really express how delighted we all are with this year’s LBGS better than the words of several readers, who buttonholed me at Olympia and told me that for them, and for the British bass community in general, it’s the high point of their calendar. Look out for our in-depth report in this issue, which revisits the amazing gear manufacturers who exhibited at the show, and also says hello to the many world-class bass players who performed for us. It really was the experience of a lifetime, and one that we’re going to do our damnedest to beat in 2015. See you there!

Elsewhere in this issue we escape the dank British spring with a visit to California, where our cover star Fieldy of Korn entertains us. We also meet a huge range of bass talent, from Let Spin to Snarky Puppy to Testament and beyond, while shaking hands with iconic bassists from the soul and jazz world. If that’s not enough for you, dive into our reviews and tuition sections, where – as always – we cover gear and advice to suit all budgets and abilities. Stay in touch and let the good times roll...

Really interesting

Lots of interesting articles Beoordeeld op 25 april 2022

Bass Player UK

I'm writing from Colombia. I really enjoy the magazine. Thanks guys. Beoordeeld op 20 december 2020

Always a good read

Really entertaining view of guitar Beoordeeld op 11 juli 2019

Preferred the old reader

Although the new version has a few extra goodies like a side menu with all articles and a nicer layout, the zoom isn't as good as the old reader. With my phone horizontal the maximum zoom still has tiny lettering. It would be no good to someone who is short sighted. Beoordeeld op 24 november 2012
