It’s easy to forget how new Para rowing still is to the Paralympic movement. Having made its debut in Beijing in 2008, the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games this summer marked only its fourth appearance at the Games. Tokyo was also the first Paralympic Games to run 2000m races, bringing it in line with its Olympic counterpart. World Rowing voted to move all Para rowing events from 1000m to 2000m in 2017.
