Austrian Airlines is adding to its transatlantic network with a new service to Boston launching in July. The up-to-six weekly service from Vienna will operate year-round with one of its three-class 211-seat Boeing 767-300ERs. The carrier is now awaiting the arrival of its first Boeing 787, which will replace its ageing 767 and 777-200ER fleets.
New Maltese flag carrier KM Malta Airlines has announced a codeshare agreement with the Lufthansa Group. The Air Malta replacement said the collaboration would “enhance our presence in the European market” and “significantly broaden” its European network, opening up 35 new destinations for passengers on a single ticket.
Ryanair has announced an expansion of its operation in Hungary. The carrier will open six new routes to Frankfurt, Faro, Milan, Skiathos, Trieste and Tirana, and increase frequencies on 20 others, allowing it to grow traffic in the country by 22% this year. It also plans to base two new aircraft at Budapest/Ferenc Liszt, taking the total number to ten. (Photo Ryanair)
