DRS KEY TO DROPPING BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS
Use of the Decision Review System (DRS) in international cricket has
contributed to a decline in behaviour in lower tiers of the game, according to Martin Bodenham, the recently retired first-class umpire. Bodenham, the only man to have officiated at the highest level of football and cricket, reached the ECB umpires’ mandatory retirement age of sixty five last year. He will continue to officiate in club cricket, but believes players in the lower leagues will be influenced by players who are now continuously questioning the umpires at international level.
