Model Boats  |  March 2014
This issue has for its main feature, Part One of Bob Hinton's unique project for a fully functioning radio controlled model of the Gibbs Aquada amphibious motor car, which uniquely includes the retracting wheels! In addition we have a Plastic Magic conversion of Lucky XI by Phil Button from a Revell kit and Dave Wooley has a very interesting and well illustrated report from the Scale Model World 2013 event. This is organised by the international Plastic Modeller Society and is organised by the International Plastic Modeller Society and although based around static models of all types, it does have a significant marine element and the weathering and detailing skills demonstrated by the masterpieces on display are an inspiration and encouragement to model makers of all persuasions. Ian Folkson, a current World Champion in the Naviga Offshore Class, has supplied an excellent article about his new Delta Force boat that he will use to defend his title in 2014. Readers’ Models in this issue includes a really superb HMS Smiter and a Fast Patrol Launch based on the original Aerokits design creating a unique and slightly larger practical working radio controlled model. We also include the usual favourite regular articles, so plenty of good in-depth and well illustrated articles for all model boating enthusiasts. Paul Freshney - Editor
