Acoustic  |  100
It’s such a pleasure to present you with this issue: our 100th! What a journey –we started as a bimonthly magazine in December 2004 / January 2005 and have made it to issue 100, having had some of the biggest names in acoustic guitar playing contribute to Acoustic magazine. There is one name – despite gracing our cover several times – we’ve not had give a guest lesson and, really, it’s the only name we could’ve put on the cover of this milestone issue: Tommy Emmanuel. We met our 100th issue guest editor, Tommy, at The North American Guitar’s studio (thanks, guys) in West London, armed with our cameras and mics. What you’ve got in this issue is an exclusive interview with Tommy based around his technique and then a lesson from the man himself on how to produce his signature sound – and, crucially, how to perfect it. Read about it (pg. 54), or watch it all in the digital edition. You can also win his signature guitar from the kind folks at Maton Guitars (pg. 12). Jason Mraz, Katie Melua, Jerry Douglas, Seth Lakeman and Thomas Rhett all feature elsewhere in this issue, too, making it a bumper issue of big names. Wherever you are in the world – thank you for reading and enjoy our 100th issue.
