Model Engineer  |  4547
There’s something of a ‘beginners’ theme running through this issue with three articles aimed at, or written by, those who are relative newcomers to model engineering: Brian Baker has designed a steam raising blower that would be suitable as a first ever attempt at ‘making something’ and gives clear, well illustrated and easy to follow advice; young Angus French shows us his first ever model - a Land Rover Defender - and Peter King continues with his series of articles for those interested in getting started with CNC. For those with a little more experience, perhaps, Neil Wyatt’s little shunter is an ideal first locomotive.
We have some reminiscing about the late Reverend Stebbing - a regular and entertaining correspondent in years past. Plus locomotive construction in the form of Barclay Well Tanks and the lovely little Halstead.
The cover bears an atmospheric photo of Holgate Windmill in York as Roger Backhouse goes on his travels and reports on this iconic, northern restoration project.
