WELSH Rugby League entered new territory as North Wales Crusaders were the home side in the first 13-a-side game hosted by rugby union club Nant Conwy.

Accents emanating from all corners of the UK, as well as smatterings of the Welsh language, gave an exotic feel to this fixture of the ‘M62 corridor’ sport.

In the first of a number of fixtures having to be played away from Eirias Park in Colwyn Bay, North Wales showed no sign of homesickness as they starred strongly.
