Classic Bus  |  Oct/Nov 2022 (181)
In this issue, we’re back looking at the phenomenon of ‘tin’ fronts, front-engined double deckers with concealed radiators and built up front nearside wings – this time those bought by Edinburgh, including one with a wrong number!
We’re back on Teesside too, and have the answer to the question of the Guy Arab at the 1950 Commercial Vehicle Show. You loved our earlier look at tractor/trailer buses, so we feature more from Australia, Bulgaria and Romania. And how about a numberplate that has been seen on five different vehicles? We have that, too.
We’re also in Dublin, on postcards anyway, off to the south coast, back on London Transport staff outings, and take a refreshment break in a coach park in Winchester. Oh, and we discover what it was like going up and down Porlock Hill around the start of the 20th century, while our delve into The Bus Archive throws a bit more light on those NBC trials of different double deckers.
Plus there’s our popular, lively and well-illustrated Forum section with topics ranging far and wide, and a look at some new books.
