The interesting sports cars that we forgot all about
As you might have noticed, we like our sports cars here at Autocar. But this story is about the fast machines that almost everyone has forgotten ever existed. Which is a real shame, because some of them were rather good, some were very pretty and some had extraordinary specifications. So let’s jog our memories.
RICHARD DREDGE
Trident Iceni 2008
The Trident Iceni was announced with a 660bhp 6.6-litre diesel engine, which was claimed to be good for 190mph and 0-62mph in less than 3.0sec. It was priced at around £100,000, sported a six-speed automatic gearbox and promised an enormous 2000-mile range from a single tank of biodiesel, thanks to a targeted combined figure of 68.9mpg.
