Got a problem? DR RANJ SINGH and WAYNE DHESI are here to offer their advice…
I’ve met a guy I like and he undeniably has a great body.
I’ve seen the photos on Instagram! Mine, on the other hand, is a bit rough around the edges: a bit of flab here, the odd stretch mark there. Anyway, the difference means I’m quite self-conscious about the prospect of going to bed with him. Do you have any advice?

→ WAYNE: First off, you’re by no means alone in having anxieties about your body.
The Attitude body survey conducted for this issue (see p9) found that 59 per cent of gay men aren’t happy with their body, while 84 per cent said they felt under intense scrutiny to have a good body. While this month’s magazine has tried to highlight many of the anxieties gay men face with their body, it’s such a large topic that there isn’t room to explore body image in the gay community to a conclsuive end. So let’s look at things on a personal level.
Exercising and eating well are lifestyle choices and any doctor will tell you that doing them is a good idea. However, being fit and healthy is not the same as having sculpted abs, a rock-hard chest and just five per cent body fat.
