THE RESTAURANT
Here’s a dialogue with lots of useful vocabulary and expressions to use in a restaurant. You’ll be able to use them next time you go to a restaurant. In this scene Mr Hargreaves has entered a typical English restaurant for some lunch. He has a few problems getting what he wants:
Hargreaves: Excuse me, I’ve been sitting here for at least ten minutes. Are you going to serve me some time today?
Waiter: Oh, sorry. I didn’t see you there. What are you going to have, then?
Hargreaves: I’d like to see the menu, if that’s at all possible.
