CANADIAN CHARTER carrier Nolinor Aviation has announced plans to restore its Boeing 737-200 fleet to pre-pandemic levels. The move comes in response to a surge in operations from gravel runways in the far north of the country owing to increased mining activities in the territory of Nunavut.
The carrier’s six 737-200s have undergone seven months and more than $3m worth of mechanical refurbishments. The aircraft type holds a unique position in the commercial aviation industry, being the only one with Boeing certification for gravel runway operations.
