Exclusive Diary of the Urban Myth
Autumn came in with a bang this September! One day we had temperatures approaching 30 degrees, and then the next day it was half that with cold winds and rain. However, September and October still remain two of my favourite months of the year to be on the bank. The golden backdrop of trees, the light levels still over 12 hours long, comfortable temperatures and winds that still have some warmth in them despite their strength. The carp seem to like it too, as this month’s incredible array of big carp proves. Not that everyone is finding it easy; they've still got to be caught even though conditions are prime, but our contributors don't appear to be having problems.
The cover story comes from Terry Dempsey this month who has been concentrating on his Kent syndicate after the Big Fully and Savay Lake for whatever comes his way, as it’s his first year on the night syndicate, but bites are hard earned at the moment. Lee Kidd has been on the maggots, deadly in the autumn, catching some huge specimens of both commons and mirrors over forty pounds. Mark Baker’s hunt for his lake’s biggest resident comes to an end with the capture of Two Scales, a superb almost leather in the mid-forties. Golden Gates is the scene for the capture of a colossal common, the Bulldozer, by Big Carp regular Nick Onslow. Its downfall comes down to its love of Urban Baits’ Red Spicy Fish. Don't forget if you subscribe now to BC you can get £110 worth of this incredible bait FREE!
