Peter Cokley opens the March issue of Australian Railway History with Part 2 of his documentation of the Thomas Nationwide Transport (TNT) Salisbury Container Terminal. This outlines the changes that occurred there through to its closure in April 1996.
Frank Johnson concludes his account of his time as Divisional Engineer in the Narrabri Region of the NSW Railways by concluding the track restoration following the 1971 floods and documenting the railway accidents that occurred during his tenure. Frank also covers the mechanisation of track maintenance work at this time and the annual conferences of the Way and Works Branch in Sydney.
Rod Milne documents the extension of the Queensland Railways branch line from Allora to Goomburra opened in July 1912 and closed in December 1993.
