The Knitter  |  Issue 149
Spring is here, so it feels like the right time to indulge ourselves with beautiful stitches knitted in special yarns! Our latest pattern collection is filled with garments and accessories decorated with delicate lace, sophisticated cables, and two-colour brioche patterns. Projects include a lightweight tunic with lacy details by Elly Doyle, which is knitted in Baa Ram Ewe’s lovely Titus yarn. Mary Henderson combines cables and lace to create a chic short-sleeved jumper, while Martin Storey has used a beaded lace stitch on his pretty cardigan. We also bring you a modern colourwork sweater for men, a children’s cardigan with an intarsia sheep design, and a cabled cardigan by Sian Brown.
Brioche knitting is so popular right now, so we’ve interviewed leading designers including Nancy Marchant and Stephen West to learn more about the technique and to get their expert tips. We have two brioche patterns for you to try, too: a two-colour cowl, and a beret.
Plus, our special supplement includes an interview with designer Bronagh Miskelly, along with her ‘Annecy’ shawl pattern, which features an intricate lace panel paired with airy mesh wings.
