HALES GRABS HIS CHANCE TO DEFY TOURISTS
Alex Hales admits he always thought he would get a second chance to prove himself as a Test opener after his unbeaten seventy one on day one at Headingley kept England in this first Test against Sri Lanka. Hales had averaged just seventeen in his maiden Test series in South Africa last winter, and was under pressure for his place at the start of this summer.
