The Artist  |  June 2020
Welcome to our first lockdown June issue. Coronavirus has presented an unprecedented global crisis and our thoughts are with everyone directly affected, especially those facing significant impacts on their health and livelihoods. Our priorities are to protect and safeguard the wellbeing of our key workers, families, friends and the communities we serve and never before have the positive benefits of engaging in creative activities, such as drawing and painting, been so important. It's a good time to distract ourselves from the harsh realities of an uncertain future by spending more time than usual practising our skills, trying new media, a new subject matter, a new approach. Our contributing artists offer many helpful suggestions and creative ideas to try throughout this issue, covering all subject matter and media. Plus don't forget to take advantage of all the opportunities to engage with like-minded creative people on our website (www.painters-online.co.uk) and our social media channels. Stay safe, look after those around you and stay in touch for a little positivity from us.
