MOTOGP SPECIAL: MARQUEZ THE MAGNIFICENT
Marc Marquez showed his utter dominance of MotoGP by being crowned world champion with three races to spare after victory at Honda’s home race at Motegi on Sunday. At just twenty five years old it’s his fifth premier class trophy in six years and his seventh title in total. The Spaniard has been flawless all season despite strong challenges from an array of rivals. Going into the weekend he only needed to beat main rival Andrea Dovizioso to win
the title but was adamant he was happy to wait until next time out at Phillip Island if it meant taking unnecessary risks. But when it came down to it on
Sunday Marquez showed no such restraint. With Dovi choosing to lead from the front, Marquez eventually took the lead, which in turn pressured the Ducati rider into a mistake, denying the sell-out crowd an epic last lap showdown.
