Dollhouse Miniatures  |  Issue 82
After a recent trip to Connecticut to visit the Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market I realized how much I missed going on road trips the last two years because of everything that has been going on. The stimulation of seeing new skylines, driving new roads, visiting new restaurants and taking in the local sights was so stimulating and refreshing. My radar was on as I scanned the flea market for dollhouses, but unfortunately it was lacking in miniatures. As we drove home my boyfriend suggested we check Google for local miniature shops and we stopped in White Plains, NY to visit a shop that was supposed to be open on Sundays only to find locked doors. So I did some window shopping instead. But it was still nice to see an actual dollhouse shop full of treasures. Don’t forget to search for local shops when you’re on road trips or visiting any new states. Just be sure to call first in case their Google listing has not been updated. There is nothing that compares to seeing a shop full of minis. Browsing shelves overflowing with possibilities and gorgeous works of art is the best way to get inspired and refuel your imagination! Who knows, there could be one item you find there that could start a whole new build.
