Last year, you may have seen in the press or television the Prime Minister giving an apology to LGBTQ+ veterans. It made the main news of the day and caused a bit of chat on social media. It would be fair to ask, “Of what importance is that?”
For many LGBTQ+ veterans it was an acknowledgement that the way they were treated during their service was at best uncomfortable, and at worst involved hard prison-time or dismissal in disgrace.
