Tractor & Machinery  |  Vol.20 No.5 M-H 744D Show Debut
Hello and welcome to another packed issue of T&M, in which we’re focusing on Tractor World – the traditional opener for the show season.
Before I go any further, I’d like to share my appreciation for Martin Oldaker, as without his continued help I wouldn’t be in this position today.
I started working on the magazine in 2007 and it was Martin’s skill and attention to detail that encouraged me to write features, as well as design them.
He has been a constant source of support and pointed me in
the right direction when the going got tough. So thank you Martin
and I wish you well for the future, whether you decide to buy
that Field-Marshall you’ve hankered after for so long, or not!
As for this issue, well, it’s certainly diverse! We have tractors
from every decade of the latter half of the 20th century, plus a
look at the changes brought about by the introduction of the
metric system, a bumper practical section and the latest scalemodel
news. Whatever your colour and whether you like spanners
or not, I think we’ve got something to tickle your fancy.
If we haven’t, then please let me know. It’s perhaps a cliché
to say that it’s your magazine and without you and your tractors
we wouldn’t be here, but it’s true and, well, I’ve already said
it – so please write in and share your stories and photographs
of your prized machinery… we can’t do it without you!
Readers of T&M’s sister titles will know that I’m not one for talking
about the contents of the magazine when I write my ‘welcome’, so
as well as passing comment on anything of note that’s happened
in the world of tractors since I last put fi ngers to keyboard, I
hope to bring you news from my own shed from time to time.
