Rugby League World  |  434
There’s a bit of a French flavour to Rugby League World this month, kicking off with our cover star Theo Fages who is leading a charge of players who have crossed the English Channel from France to find success in Super League. We look back at the first attempt to establish a French club in the top flight with Paris Saint-Germain in the company of Fabien Devecchi and Laurent Lucchese, as well as catching up with modern day success stories Rémi Casty at Catalans and Sylvain Houles at Toulouse.
If you rearrange the colours of the French flag, you’ll also get the red, white and blue of Great Britain, and we get reaction to the big news that the Lions are roaring back onto the international stage.
No matter which country or what level the game is played, it can’t happen without a referee, sometimes two, to take charge on the field. Following the departure of several high profile officials in recent months we investigate what’s going on and how we can better support our merry whistleblowers.
Daryl Clark talks to us about reclaiming the England number 9 shirt and Salford cross-coder Josh Jones has some interesting views on what we can learn from across the great divide.
Beth Daniels tells us about her unique battle to play women’s Rugby League and as always we’ve got loads more great features to keep you entertained.
Dive in, enjoy and tell us what you think too!
