Patchwork and Quilting  |  November 2017
I’ve had the joy at looking at the wonderful Xmas fabrics from Moda in the project I’ve made in this issue, Magnolia Metallics. It’s Layer Cake friendly, which means you can make it with any of their other Layer Cakes. Everyone loves owls and Debbie von Grabler-Crozier has turned her lovely appliqué barn owl into an Owl Clock. Garden Steps uses the traditional Courthouse Steps block to create a delightful quilt, while the Floral Splendour quilt features a recent collection from Makower, Botanica and we make the second tweed cushion from Margaret Lee, Daisies in a Can.
In the autumn, the quilt competitions come thick and fast. In this issue, we take a look at the Great Northern Quilt Show at Harrogate, with reviews of the West Country Quilt and Textile Show and the Scottish Quilt Championships following in the next couple of issues. Anja Townrow tells us about her Atomic quilt commissioned by Makower and Khurshid Bamboat shows us her favourite galleries at the recent Festival of Quilts. We find out more about the Sleep Quilt and Inspired by India exhibition at the Macclesfield Silk Museum. Ricky Tims tells us about his First and Last quilts and we meet UK Quilters United in Introducing.
