We switch between the wild and, relatively speaking, the mild side of the 911 in this issue. In one corner sits the Gunther Werks 400R, a 993 that is by no means tame in that it has been comprehensively modified. On the flip side comes the 911T, a late 1960’s model famed for what Porsche deleted from its specification sheet, not what it added.
The contrast is equally divergent between the new Carrera T, a 911 said to offer a stripped-down appeal (as stripped as a contemporary 911 can realistically be that is), and EB Motorsport’s 911R. EB’s R tribute has been reworked to deliver as raw and thrilling a 911 driving experience as you’re likely to get. What these four cars serve to highlight is the 911’s ability to be so utterly versatile. Whether you want a wild, or a mild 911, this is a car that can be coaxed in either direction for even in standard trim it is an adaptable vehicle. It’s one of the reasons we love it so much…
