Hello one and all and
welcome to another exciting
issue of Ford & Fordson
Tractors. You’ll notice that we’ve
included a diverse range of tractors
for your delectation and delight –
everything from an Allan Taylor Y
Type, built in 1936, to a Ford 8210.
I’m not usually one to talk about
the contents of a magazine in
my ‘Welcome’, but I am keen to
emphasise my desire to include
something for everyone in F&FT.
I know it’s a bit of a cliché to say
that it’s your magazine, but you
must remember that the team puts
it together for a vast age range
and, as such, it’s important to have
something to interest all.
When I was introduced as the
new editor of F&FT earlier this year,
I was aware of some consternation
that such a ‘young’ person was
going to be at the helm – purely
because they thought I’d only
feature Q and Super Q-cabbed
tractors in the magazine.
Well, as I suggested in the last
issue, open-platform tractors are
more my thing – but I’ll strive
to achieve the right balance.
Inevitably, there will be times when
we’re a little heavy on a certain era,
but I’ll do my best to address that
in the following issue.
I’d also like to invite you to
submit your restoration stories,
practical features or simply write a
letter or e-mail for us to include in
our ‘Inbox’ section – we value your
input greatly.
On another subject, if you’re
planning to attend one of the many
working events taking place over
the next few weeks, either as a
participant or spectator, I hope you
enjoy yourself and be safe.
If you’re heading to Ramsey
Rural Museum’s Annual Plough &
Country Fayre Day, come over and
have a chat – I’ve always got time
to talk tractors!
